
Bollywood Lyricist Sameer: Lyricist Sameer has been writing songs in the film industry for more than 4 decades. During this period, he has written more than 6000 songs in more than 600 films. He has been one of the busiest lyricists of the Bollywood industry and his old songs still sound new and remain on people’s lips. During a recent interview, Sameer told which was the simplest song of his career so far and which was the song that took him the most time to make during his career. During a conversation with TV 9 Bharatvarsha’s Special Chunk 5 editors, Sameer Anjaan told that he had written the song ‘Nazar Ke Samne Jigar Ke Paas’ from the film Aashiqui in just 15-20 minutes.
While talking about his most difficult songs, Sameer said that aamir khan It took him the most time to write the song ‘O Priya’ from the film Dil. First a romantic song was written and then it was changed and the song became more sad. Then after writing 3-4 versions of it, the song was confirmed. Apart from this, while mentioning the most difficult songs of his career, Sameer said that writing the song ‘Desh Mere Meri Jaan Hai Tu’ from Ajay Devgan’s film Legend of Bhagat Singh was the most difficult for him.
Didn’t think I would get Filmfare for Aashiqui…
Sameer said that he had never thought that he would ever be able to write so many songs. At the same time, for the song of Aashiqui which he had written in just 15 minutes, he had no idea that he would get the Filmfare Award for it. The lyricist said that his father Anjaan was an inspiration for him. Besides, he was always a fan of Anand Bakshi and Majrooh Sultanpuri and learned a lot from both of them.

What did Sameer say about being typecast?
Sameer was asked how to get out of the pressure of being typecast. Answering this, he said – “Being typed becomes a compulsion. Because when I wrote Aashiqui, people even pressured me that Aashiqui should come somewhere in the song. But I wrote songs with so many different music directors that I was saved from getting typecast. Then Govinda entered my life. I had to write many different songs for him. I was very lucky to be a part of the industry at a time when many great songs were being made in the industry.
