The construction of the new state headquarters of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, is now almost finalized. BJP has purchased about 5500 square meter plot of land located in Jiyamau by making the highest bid in the e-auction of Lucknow Development Authority (LDA). On this plot, the party will construct a six-storey state office with state-of-the-art facilities. UP will become the main center of BJP’s state level political and organizational activities.
According to the information, a plan was going on for a long time to construct the state headquarters of BJP on the land of Khasra No. 196 located in Jiyamau. This plot was earlier allotted by the Municipal Corporation to Deendayal Upadhyaya Seva Trust in the year 2020 on a 90-year lease. Later, the process of making it freehold also started, so that the permanent state headquarters of BJP could be built here.
However, in April this year, Deendayal Seva Trust, citing budget constraints, decided to return the land to the Municipal Corporation. After this, the Municipal Corporation transferred the plot to LDA and the authority started the process of its e-auction. Many big builder groups took part in the auction, but BJP made the highest bid and got the plot in its name.
The campus will become the new center of state politics
According to BJP sources, the proposed headquarters will be developed keeping in mind the modern administrative needs. The building will have large administrative offices, conference halls, meeting rooms, media centre, training rooms and special facilities for organizational activities. Apart from this, there is also a plan to develop a helipad on the top floor.
The party believes that in view of the current political and organizational expansion, the need for a large and modern state headquarters was being felt for a long time. The new complex will serve as an integrated administrative center for officials, public representatives and workers coming from across the state.
Foundation stone may be laid in July
According to sources, the top leadership of the party is also active in laying the foundation stone of the new state headquarters. It is expected that BJP National President Nitin Nabin and Union Home Minister Amit Shah may lay its foundation stone in July. However, no official announcement has been made yet regarding the program.
