Yesterday i.e. on Thursday, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak did a podcast style interview with Narendra Kashyap, Minister of Backward Welfare Department in his own government and OBC leader, at his own residence. In this interview, Pathak attacked Akhilesh Yadav’s backward love. Minister Narendra Kashyap alleged that Akhilesh Yadav’s PDA is limited to only one caste and his family in it. In response to a question from a reader, Narendra Kashyap said that Akhilesh Yadav cheats. For them, the issue of welfare of backward classes, minorities and Dalits is limited only to vote bank. His party works only for a particular caste, even in that he thinks about the welfare of his family first.

Akhilesh Yadav probably got irritated due to this reason and wrote sarcastically on this post, ‘Those who proved useless as Health Minister have now become journalists because they have to do some work to pass the time; They have already failed in government, organization and party. The people of the state are suffering due to heat and illness without electricity and the BJP ministers are celebrating summer holidays by playing interview-interview. Then the Deputy will have to face trouble! Very childish!

Responding to Akhilesh Yadav’s taunt, Brajesh Pathak made a post on his social media handle today and wrote, “It is a matter of pride to be a journalist. I am a small person and an ordinary social political worker, but our glorious history is a witness that almost all the great public leaders have been journalists. Pandit Deendayal used to publish the monthly magazine Rashtradharma. Lohiyaji was the editor of the Hindi monthly magazine Jan and the English monthly magazine Mankind. It is our eternal tradition to conduct dialogues and interviews, promises.” Promises are made: Loknayak Jayaprakash had said that dictators are the opponents of dialogue.

He further wrote, our journalist brothers and sisters are the Karmayogi of our society. Calling him a barn is an insult to all journalists and working people. Ask our journalist friends how much talent and hard work goes into a meaningful interview. The one who will be the crown prince will find hard work bad. Those who are traders of lies will find communication unpleasant. It is beyond comprehension why some people are so afraid of dialogue and truth?
He wrote that as a health minister, I am improving public health as much as possible and as a political activist, I am fulfilling my public duty by running a dialogue. What should I do if he feels chilly….”
Pathak’s Walk and Talk with Keshav Maurya
Actually, Brajesh Pathak had talked to two leaders even before this. Had shared his video. On May 1, 2026, on the day of Buddha Purnima in Kushinagar, both the Deputy Chief Ministers shared a casual video, in which both of them walked together in the park and discussed the life, peace and development work of Lord Buddha. In the language of journalism it is also called walk and talk. Akhilesh Yadav sarcastically captioned this post as well: “A chair is not made by joining two stools.” After this, Pathak also talked to Union Minister SP Singh Baghel at his residence and also shared that video.
Political analysts believe that Brajesh Pathak is trying to strengthen BJP’s penetration among OBCs and backward classes. Through dialogue with OBC faces like Minister Narendra Kashyap, Union Minister SP Singh Baghel and Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, he is challenging Akhilesh’s ‘backward love’. At the same time, Akhilesh Yadav is considering it as an attack on his image.
