When the topic of marriage and disintegrating relationships came up during our conversation, Akanksha could not stop herself and revealed the biggest reason behind her rift with Gaurav Khanna. Akanksha told that there is no third person or mutual fight behind the end of this relationship, rather both of them have different views regarding the ‘child’. The actress candidly said that she never wanted to become a mother in her life, whereas Gaurav Khanna wanted to take his family forward after a while and wanted children of his own.

During the discussion, when Shreya Kalra asked Akanksha whether she was not ready to become a mother yet? On this, Akanksha immediately interrupted and said in clear words, “Not now… but not ever! I never had that feeling (maternal instinct) of becoming a mother. I had understood long ago that I never want a child and I had clearly told this to Gaurav as well.” Akanksha further said that 99 percent of the people in the world decide to get married only to take their family forward. When I felt that Gaurav wanted a child very much and I would never be able to fulfill his wish, I myself told him that if you want to leave me, then leave me.” During this time, when Shreya advised her to adopt a child, Akanksha rejected that too. She clearly said that she does not want to be tied in the responsibility of children, she only wants freedom in her life.
