‘Like Sanju Samson, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Team India is ruining KL Rahul too’

July 21, 2026 by Uma Shankar

1 run in Birmingham ODI, only 12 in Lord’s…England ODI series proved to be very bad for KL Rahul. After the failure of this right-handed batsman in both the matches, a big question was raised on the Team India management itself. Actually, KL Rahul was sent to a different number in both these matches. This player used to bat at number 5 but in both the matches, this batsman was made to bat at number six. Before him, wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan was sent to bat. As a result, KL Rahul failed and now former cricketer K. Srikanth has made a big allegation.

Is Team India’s strategy ruining KL Rahul?

Of. Srikanth alleged that KL Rahul This strategy of Team India is ruining India. He said that the way Team India did with Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Sanju Samson, the same is now happening with KL Rahul. Srikanth said, ‘When you are chasing such a big target then who will send KL Rahul at number 6. This player has won you matches in difficult run chases. Is Rahul a No. 6 or No. 7 batsman? This is injustice. Rahul’s body language also showed that he was nervous.

Srikanth further said, ‘Just as you harassed Sanju Samson and Vaibhav Suryavanshi, now KL Rahul is being harassed. India needs a batsman like Jos Buttler who can bat like him there. If Rahul had been sent to bat at number 4, he would have formed a good partnership with Virat Kohli, just like what happened in the 2023 World Cup. Srikanth said that Rahul can increase the score quickly. But he was sent at a time when the game was completely over.

Rahul has failed at number 6

Let us tell you that KL Rahul’s figures at number 6 in ODIs are very bad. At number six, this player has scored only 345 runs in 15 matches at an average of 34.5. At the fifth position, he has scored 1517 runs in 35 matches at an average of 63.2. His strike rate is also more than 100.
