A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court regarding the alleged encounter of Bharat Tiwari in Biloti village of Bhojpur district of Bihar. In this petition, a demand has been made for an impartial investigation of the incident and registration of FIR against the policemen allegedly involved in it. This petition has been filed by Supreme Court lawyer Vishal Tiwari.
It demands an independent and impartial investigation into the circumstances of the encounter and legal action against the police officers and personnel found responsible for the incident. The petitioner has also demanded an investigation into the role of senior officers present at the incident site and requested that an FIR be registered against them also to ensure accountability in the entire matter.
Apart from the Bharat Tiwari encounter in Biloti village, the petition also demands a comprehensive investigation into the alleged full and half encounter cases in Uttar Pradesh. The petitioner argues that in such cases, judicially monitored investigation is necessary to maintain the rule of law and protect human rights. At present, the date of hearing on the petition is awaited in the Supreme Court. This case has sparked vigorous discussion in legal and political circles as well.
BJP leader Ashwini Choubey also raised questions
Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Ashwini Choubey has also raised questions in this entire matter. He said that if Bharat Tiwari had surrendered and he did not have any weapon, then why did the police open fire. Arrah MP Sudama Prasad has also described the encounter as suspicious, citing available video footage and other evidence. However, the administration says that Tiwari opened fire on the police team that had gone to arrest him, in response to which the police also had to open fire.
Family members and villagers accused the police
At the same time, Bharat Tiwari’s family members and villagers are rejecting the police’s claim and alleging that he was shot after surrendering. This matter has become even more controversial after a video went viral on social media, raising the question whether the rules laid down were followed during the police action.
