A meeting of the India Alliance was held in New Delhi on Monday to create unity among the opposition parties and decide its strategy to counter the BJP. Congress Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress President and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and top leaders of opposition parties attended the meeting. Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s Hemant Soren attended the meeting virtually. A total of 25 parties participated in the meeting.
Trinamool Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee attended the meeting amid speculations of division among MPs. Shiv Sena (UBT) chief in the meeting Uddhav Thackeray called Mamata Banerjee a lioness. At the same time, Akhilesh Yadav raised the issue of not holding meetings at regular intervals for better coordination in India Block.
Rahul’s clarification on Left’s complaint
In the meeting, the left parties openly accused Congress that you people call us the B team of BJP. It was said about our leaders that they have met BJP. That’s why the agency doesn’t raid. On this, Rahul Gandhi clarified that this is a national alliance and it could be an electoral compulsion in the state elections. I had to speak about the brief that state leaders do during elections.

Issue raised in regular meeting of India Block
Tejashwi Yadav also raised the issue of lack of coordination in India Block and meetings not being held at regular intervals. At the same time, some parties of India Bloc including Left demanded to include DMK back in India. They said that whether it is the issue of delimitation, secularism or opposing BJP, DMK has taken a strong stand, that is why BJP brings such bills and they get angry and abstain, whereas if a large section of TMC votes in favor of the government, then problems will increase.
After this, Congress did not discuss anything about bringing TVK into the India block. The issues of these two parties will now be discussed separately. Mamta Banerjee said that the elections of Bengal were stolen. Paramilitary forces and agencies were misused. All this continues even today. Therefore, India Block should send a delegation to Bengal to present the picture to the country. In the meeting, some leaders discussed the Cockroach Janata Party. On this, the leaders said that steps will have to be taken keeping a serious political eye on this because it shows the anger of Genji.
