The demand to separate Alberta from Canada has intensified. After continuous rebellion, the government has decided to hold a referendum here. This referendum will be held on 19 October. Alberta University Professor Boily had written an article regarding this a few days ago. According to Boily, Alberta’s fight was initially primarily an economic one, involving not paying for the rest of Canada. In an Ipsos survey conducted in January 2026, 28 percent of people openly demanded Alberta’s separation from Canada.
