A strange statement from a BJP MLA from Uttar Pradesh has come to light. He has told a very unique trick to win the elections. BJP MLA from Gopamau assembly constituency Shyam Prakash believes that elections are won not only through development work but through ‘tricks’. He said that votes are not received because of development. I have also developed. I did not get votes from the booths in the villages where I built roads.
He stressed that I am telling you a practical thing. Elections are won through ‘Tikadam’. Elections are not won through development. The BJP MLA was telling the village head the recipe for winning the elections.
Advised to adopt even-handedness
The BJP MLA made this address when the Uttar Pradesh government decided to appoint outgoing gram pradhans (village heads) as administrators of gram panchayats. He asked the village head to prepare for the next elections and adopt all possible methods. According to him, you should win elections by using ‘Sam’, ‘Daam’, ‘Dand’, ‘Bhed’.
The outgoing Pradhan will continue to handle the general administrative affairs of the Panchayats until the formation of new Gram Panchayats or for a maximum period of six months. The tenure of the Gram Panchayats of the state will be completed on 26th May.
