Delhi Hauz Khas AC Blast: Due to the fire raining from the sky, the temperature is increasing, today AC has become a necessity for all of us to avoid the scorching heat. This air conditioner, which cools the room, can explode like a bomb due to a little carelessness. The incident of AC Blast in Delhi’s posh area Hauz Khas once again shook everyone, a fire broke out due to a blast in the indoor unit of the Split AC installed in the house of CCI’s first chairman and retired IAS officer Dhanendra Kumar.
There were 5 people in the house during the blast, Dhanendra Kumar could not be saved and his son got seriously injured. This incident alerts all of us that we should not take the AC installed in the house lightly and to avoid such incidents, the AC should be checked regularly. Not only the investigation, but we also commit some mistakes knowingly or unknowingly due to which disaster like AC blast befalls us and may even lead to loss of life.
AC Blast Reasons: Mistake of running continuously
The temperature is very high in summer due to which people keep the AC running continuously for hours without switching it off. When the AC runs continuously for 15 hours or more, the AC compressor starts getting stressed because the compressor keeps working without stopping. This is the reason why the AC starts overheating which can cause blast and explosion.
voltage fluctuations
Instability of electricity supply is much more than just a minor problem. This can damage the electrical parts of your appliance. Frequent voltage fluctuations adversely affect the functioning of the split AC, as sudden spikes or drops in voltage can damage the compressor and other sensitive electrical parts. Not only this, this instability of electricity significantly increases the risk of dangerous blasts. To avoid this, install a voltage stabilizer with the AC.

dirty filter
Even though a dirty filter may seem like a small problem, it is much bigger than that. Not only does this reduce air flow and prevent air from venting properly, the airflow forces the compressor to operate at a higher thermal threshold, exponentially increasing the chance of an electrical short or explosion.
Poor maintenance and old wiring
Over time, electrical wires deteriorate and essential connections become loose. When high voltage current passes through old and worn wiring, it becomes a major reason for electrical short circuits. If you do not get the servicing done even once in every 3 to 4 months, it means that you are not paying attention to the AC. It is important to get the AC serviced from time to time so that any kind of fault in the AC can be detected in time so that dangers like blast can be avoided.
Many times a part is getting damaged and we do not notice it by looking, but when a trained technician sees it, he comes to know. If a faulty part is not replaced at the right time, there may be excessive pressure on that part, which may increase the risk of explosion. In such a situation, do not think of saving a little money on servicing and keep getting the servicing done at the right time so that the AC keeps running.
