The Central Government has approved the appointment of five new judges for the Supreme Court. These include four Chief Justices of the High Court and one senior lawyer. On Monday (June 1), Union Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal gave this information on social media platform X. Let us know who are the five new judges of the Supreme Court.

With the appointments of these five new judges, the total number of judges in the Supreme Court has now increased to 37. This is expected to expedite the disposal of pending cases and judicial work. These appointments were recommended last week by the Supreme Court Collegium headed by Chief Justice (CJI) Surya Kant.

Names of these five people included

The five people who have been appointed judges of the Supreme Court include Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court Justice Sheel Nagu, Chief Justice of Bombay High Court Justice Shri Chandrashekhar, Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court Justice Arun Palli as well as senior advocate V. Mohana.

Justice Sheel Nagu

Justice Sheel Nagu, born on January 1, 1965, was originally associated with the Madhya Pradesh High Court. Before his elevation to the Supreme Court, Justice Sheel Nagu served as the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
