May 23, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has slammed the central government for increasing the prices of petrol and diesel for the third time in the last 10-15 days. Kejriwal said that the central government is giving slow poison to the countrymen by increasing the prices of petrol and diesel. Petrol and diesel have become costlier by Rs 4-5 per liter in 10-15 days.

He said that there is an outcry across the country due to the rising prices and shortage of oil and gas, but the government is not ready to tell anything to some countrymen. He said that Russia and Iran are ready to give power, oil and gas to India, but the government is not ready to take it.

Kejrival Appealing to the countrymen, he said that whether India should buy cheaper oil and gas from Iran and Russia or not, tell me by comment or direct message.

Central government accused of giving ‘slow poison’

On Saturday, Arvind Kejriwal shared a video on X and said that today again the Indian government has increased the prices of petrol and diesel. Prices have been increased for the third time in the last 10-15 days. There is a saying in English – giving slow poison. They are slowly giving poison.

There is an outcry in the entire country due to rising prices and shortage of oil and gas. Russia and Iran are ready to give us oil at cheap prices. Should we buy cheap gas and oil from Russia and Iran? What is your opinion. pic.twitter.com/zf0Q93XyMt

He wrote, in the last 10-15 days the prices of petrol and diesel have increased by about Rs 4 to 5 per liter. The prices of gas cylinders have also increased a lot. People are finding it difficult to run their household. People are so scared and shocked that they do not know how much more the government is going to increase the prices of petrol and diesel in the coming days. There are rumors going around that it will increase a lot, petrol will go up to Rs 150, I don’t know how much it will go up? If you ask the government, the government is not telling anything.

Arvind Kejriwal further said that not only are the prices increasing in the country, but there is a shortage of petrol, gas and diesel across the country. Pictures are coming from Gujarat that how there are long lines of tractors at petrol pumps and diesel is not available. How there is fighting among people everywhere.

Why is the government not buying cheaper oil from Russia-Iran?

He said that in Gorakhpur, UP, people are sleeping on the streets at night. They are sleeping all night long on the road, lining up their gas cylinders and putting up mosquito nets to get their gas cylinders filled. There is an outcry to get petrol and diesel in Akola and Buldhana of Maharashtra. The people of the country want to know that the government should tell what is going to happen in the coming days, how bad is the situation going to get? But the government is not telling anything to the people.

Arvind Kejriwal said that both Russia and Iran are saying that we are ready to give oil and gas to India at cheap prices, but the Indian government is saying that we will not take it. Why won’t you take it? I want to know from the countrymen whether the Indian government should or should not buy oil and gas from Russia and Iran at cheap prices? This country belongs to us, not to these leaders, not to any party.

He said that we are a country of 140 crore people. If we raise our voice together, the government will have to listen to the people of this country. Countrymen can tell me by sending me in the comment box or DM whether the Indian government should buy oil and gas from Iran and Russia at cheap prices or not?
