National President of Nishad Party and Fisheries Minister of Uttar Pradesh Government, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Nishad has raised serious questions on the death of Kamlesh Bind alias Kamlesh Chaudhary in a police encounter in Ghazipur. Expressing his dissatisfaction, he claimed that Kamlesh was not the main accused in the Vineet Rai murder case, yet he was encountered. Kamlesh Bind, a criminal carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh in the case of murder of a hotel businessman in Ghazipur district, was killed in a police encounter late on Wednesday night.
Dr. Nishad, national president of Nirbal Indian Shoshit Hamara Aam Dal (Nishad), a constituent of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), said, ‘I clearly believe that a criminal has no caste. If Kamlesh Bind had committed any crime, he should have been punished as per the legal process. Because Kamlesh Bind was not the main accused in the Vineet Rai murder case.
Challenge given to police captain
Dr. Nishad said that if an encounter had to be done, it should have been done with the main accused. I am completely dissatisfied with this action of Ghazipur Police. The minister said that I challenge the Ghazipur police and the police captain there to show that if your police action is right, then encounter both the main accused. I know you can’t do this.
Sanjay Nishad also asked many questions to the police. He asked under what circumstances the encounter was carried out? Nishad claimed that Kamlesh Bind’s wife herself is saying that her husband was beaten in front of her in the police station and then taken to death. He said that there should be an impartial investigation.
Sanjay Nishad also asked why adequate police force was not arranged while carrying the dead body? The minister said that if necessary, he himself will approach the court against the SP. He said that we stand with the government to protect our society, but if you will act by becoming a predator instead of a protector, then we will have to think about this issue. I will personally put this matter before the Chief Minister and as far as I have to give information in this regard, I will give it.
According to the police, the accused Kamlesh Chaudhary alias Kamlesh Bind was wanted in the case of murder of a local hotelier Vineet Rai (29) on May 29. Police said that Kamlesh was one of the four named accused in this case. According to police sources, late Thursday evening, when Kamlesh’s body was being taken from his village to the crematorium under police protection, the crowd present there created a ruckus at the railway crossing near Ghazipur railway station.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr. Iraj Raja said on Friday that those who created a disturbance by keeping the body of Bind, who was killed in the encounter, on the road and injured the policemen, will be identified and strict action will be taken against them. The SP said that the accused can also be detained under the National Security Act (NSA).
