Sources say that like Ritabrata Banerjee in the Assembly, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar is engaged in uniting the Lok Sabha MPs and Delhi is becoming its centre. Abhishek Banerjee reached Delhi, damage control intensified

However, amid reports of rebellion among TMC MPs, Abhishek Banerjee has reached Delhi from Kolkata on Saturday and Mamata Banerjee is likely to come to Delhi on Sunday. Trinamool has 28 MPs in the Lok Sabha, although TMC had won 29 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, but one seat is vacant due to the death of Basirhat MP Haji Noorul Islam. In such a situation, the plan of the rebel MPs is to remove Abhishek Banerjee from the post of party leader in the Lok Sabha with the help of 15 MPs. The rebel MPs have claimed that there are 18 MPs with them.
