Sagar News: On the silver screen, Salman Khan played ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and took deaf and mute Munni to his home in Pakistan. The same emotional story of reel life has come to the fore as a reality in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh. A deaf and mute child living in the Gharaunda Ashram here for the last three years is now ready to return to Gujarat to his real parents. The real heroine of this entire ‘Mission Kabir’ is the ashram’s director Preeti Yadav, whose unbreakable spirit and a unique idea reunited this separated family.
This emotional story started around the year 2019-20. A deaf and mute child of about 12 years had reached Neemuch railway station alone while wandering in the train. He could neither hear nor speak. There was no name, address or any identity card in his pocket. After initial efforts, the Child Welfare Committee sent this abandoned child to Gharaunda Ashram in Sagar for care.
In the ashram, the new name of this child was given as ‘Virendra alias Ram’. Police records were searched, attempts were made to match fingerprints for identification, but no clue was found. There was not even a missing report of this child registered in any police station in the country, due to which it seemed impossible to trace him.
Preeti did not give up, laptop pictures broke her silence
Ashram director Preeti Yadav did not lose hope even after all the failures. She posted pictures of the child on social media and even took him to different cities, but to no avail. After this Preeti chose a very unique path. He started showing the child pictures of different cities of the country, famous temples and mosques on the laptop.

This sequence continued like this for months. One day suddenly a picture of a mosque appeared on the screen and ‘Ram’ jumped with joy on seeing it. In his silent language, through gestures, he explained to Preeti that this was the same mosque which was situated right near his house. Preeti had found the clue she was looking for.
The family lives in a slum in Anand district of Gujarat.
Without wasting any time, Preeti Yadav contacted the committee and local people of that mosque and sent pictures of the child. Those pictures spread through social media and local groups and reached the slum of a small village in Anand district of Gujarat.
On seeing the picture, a poor laborer family living there started crying bitterly. He recognized that it was his own son ‘Kabir Rain’. Kabir’s parents are very poor and work as labourers. Three years ago, his son had suddenly gone missing from home, but due to helplessness and lack of information, he could not even lodge an FIR with the police.

Tears shed on video call, Kabir will return home soon
After completing the administrative formalities, when both the parties were brought face to face through video call, the scene was very emotional. After 3 years, Kabir had his parents in front of him and a piece of his heart in front of his parents. There was silence on both sides, but the tears flowing from the eyes were telling everything. Kabir will soon leave from Sagar for his native Anand district of Gujarat.
Ashram director Preeti Yadav says, “The child could not speak, but the hope in his eyes told everything. When he was shocked to see the picture of the mosque, I believed that now we are on the right path. Our 3 years of penance became successful in an instant.”
