
Shani Pradosh Fast: Pradosh fast is considered very special in Hindu religion. This fast has been dedicated to Lord Shiva. Pradosh fast is observed every month on the Trayodashi date of Krishna and Shukla Paksha. This fast is known by the name of Vaar of the day on which it is observed. On the day of Pradosh Vrat, Lord Shiva is worshiped during Pradosh Kaal. According to religious belief, by observing and worshiping Pradosh fast, Lord Shiva is pleased and bestows blessings of happiness and prosperity.
It is also believed that due to the effect of Pradosh Vrat, one attains salvation and a place in Shiv Dham after death. The first Pradosh fast of the month of June was observed on 12th. This was Shukra Pradosh fast, which fell in Jyeshtha Adhikamaas. Now Pradosh Vrat will be observed on Saturday in the month of June, hence it is being called Shani Pradosh Vrat. Shani Pradosh Tithi (June Shani Pradosh Vrat 2026 Tithi)
- According to Drik Panchang, the Trayodashi tithi of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month will start on June 26 at 10.22 pm.
- This Trayodashi Tithi of Jyeshtha Shukla Paksha will end on June 28 at 12:43 pm.
Pradosh Kaal is recognized on the day of Pradosh fast. In this fast, Pradosh Kaal is being attained on 27th June. In such a situation, this Pradosh fast will be observed on 27th June, Saturday. That is why it is being called Shani Pradosh Vrat.
Shani Pradosh Vrat Puja Auspicious time (June Shani Pradosh Vrat 2026 Puja Subh Muhurat)
On the day of Shani Pradosh fast, the time of Pradosh Kaal will start at 07.23 am. This time will last till 09:23. This will be the auspicious time for the worship of Pradosh Vrat. Devotees will get 02 hours 01 minutes time to worship Shiva on this day.
Shani Pradosh Vrat Puja Vidhi
On the day of Pradosh fast, wake up early in the morning and take bath. Then wear clean clothes. After this, offer water to the Sun God from a copper vessel and resolve to fast in your mind. Keep the fast with devotion throughout the day and keep chanting the mantra Om Namah Shivay. In the evening, during Pradosh period, anoint Lord Shiva with Panchamrit. Then take bath with clean water. Offer Roli, Akshat, incense and lamp to God. Offer kheer and seasonal fruits as offering.
Chant the mantra ‘Om Namah Shivay’ 108 times. After this read the story of Shani Pradosh fast. At the end of the puja, perform Aarti of Lord Shiva. Must offer mustard oil to Shani Dev on this day.
