Hours after the death of a policeman in a terrorist attack in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, the administration demolished the houses of two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists. Officials gave this information on Thursday. Officials said that the houses of active terrorists Adil Thokar and Haroon Rashid Ganai were demolished on the night of Wednesday and Thursday.
He said that this action was taken just a few hours after a terrorist shot dead Head Constable Ashiq Hussain, who was posted on the security duty of Amarnath Yatra in Lal Chowk, Anantnag on Wednesday afternoon. Even before this, houses of active terrorists have been demolished in Kashmir, but due to reduction in incidents of violence, such action was stopped for the last one year.

Ashiq Hussain martyred in terrorist firing
Officials said that on Wednesday, suspected terrorists opened fire on a police team in Anantnag city of Jammu and Kashmir, killing a 35-year-old policeman. According to officials, this firing took place at Lal Chowk in Anantnag at around 12:30 pm. The police team which was attacked was deployed for the security of Amarnath Yatra.
Head constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi, who was on duty, died in this attack. He was taken to the Government Medical College Hospital, Anantnag, where doctors declared him dead. ‘The Resistance Front’ (TRF), an affiliate of Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the attack through a social media post.
Amarnath Yatra postponed due to bad weather
Security forces have cordoned off the area and have started an operation to locate the terrorists. Heavy deployment of security forces has been made in Anantnag city during Amarnath Yatra. The yatra has been halted for the last four days due to bad weather in Jammu and Kashmir. Moderate to heavy rains continued in Jammu and Kashmir, due to which the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway had to be closed on Wednesday. Landslides and flash floods have occurred at many places in the Union Territory. Due to which these major journeys for the passengers here had to be stopped.
