
Jharkhand is going to take a big step towards creating its new identity at the national level in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital governance and IT investment. Chief Minister Hemant Soren will present the digital roadmap of the state in the National Stakeholders Consultation-2026 to be held in New Delhi on July 8 and 9, 2026. During this, Jharkhand’s future development strategy related to IT, ITES, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Governance will be presented before the industry and policy makers of the country and abroad.
On the first day of the program, representatives of about 100 leading tech and IT companies from India and abroad and senior officials of the state government will participate in two separate sessions. Through the National Stakeholders Consultation-2026, the Government of Jharkhand aims to establish the state as a leading state in the field of digital innovation, IT investment, Artificial Intelligence based good governance and future technologies.
Ranchi IT Park will become a center of investment attraction
Ranchi IT Park will be presented as an investment proposal at the national level for the first time during the National Stakeholders Consultation. This IT park, being developed on approximately 100.97 acres of land, is located in the core capital area of the capital Ranchi. This campus is located close to IIM Ranchi and also close to Birsa Munda Airport, which will provide excellent connectivity.
Availability of more than 20,000 IT graduates every year in the state and provisions like the most attractive incentives in Eastern India – 50 percent capital investment reimbursement, 100 percent stamp duty exemption and 100 percent electricity duty exemption under the Jharkhand IT Policy-2023 will be put before the industry.
There will be brainstorming on Draft AI Policy-2026
During the consultation, the draft AI Policy-2026 will also be presented by the department to the key stakeholders which will be for the period 2026-2031. Under the proposed policy, it is proposed to form a State AI Mission under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister, make JAP-IT the nodal agency and develop Jharkhand AI Cloud interoperable with IndiaAI. Besides, it also includes a framework to strengthen administrative efficiency and service delivery through AI-based uses in various departments.
AI will become a powerful medium of good governance
The state government is working towards making Artificial Intelligence an effective tool of good governance. The state’s AI strategy focuses on four key areas namely good governance, agriculture and rural livelihoods, health and mineral resource governance, which is in line with the AI for All concept of the Government of India. The concept of Chief Minister Data Intelligence Platform (CM-DIP) will also be presented in the National Stakeholders Consultation.
This proposed AI-enabled platform will be an important initiative towards effective monitoring of schemes by integrating data of various departments, strengthening the decision process and providing services and feedback mechanism to citizens in local languages through WhatsApp and digital kiosks installed in Panchayat buildings. Along with this, the concept of a proposed Integrated Control and Command Center will also be shared.
