
In the first session of the two-day ‘National Stakeholders Consultation’ organized in New Delhi under the joint aegis of the Department of Information Technology, Industry and Tourism, Government of Jharkhand, extensive discussions were held on IT, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Governance and future technologies. In the presence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, industrialists, IT companies, policy makers, academicians and technical experts from India and abroad participated in the program.
Chief Minister Soren Said that the participation of experts from various fields including IT governance, industry, tourism, education, Microsoft, Google is proof that Jharkhand is committed to making its strong identity in the future economy. Our aim is to give new impetus to the industrial and technological progress of Jharkhand. The industrial development of the country is not possible without the industrial development of Jharkhand.
Focus on research along with resources
He said that Jharkhand has given the country not only mineral wealth but also intellectual capital. Now we should be identified not only by ‘mines’ but by ‘minds’, not only by resources but also by research, not only by extraction (mining) but also by innovation. Also, there should be not just growth but extensive growth. Along with natural resources, we also have to give equal importance to research, innovation and knowledge based economy. Our objective is to ensure not just development, but inclusive, comprehensive and sustainable development.

In the program, representatives of various leading technical institutes and industry organizations including Microsoft, Google shared their suggestions for strengthening the digital ecosystem in Jharkhand, promoting IT investment and preparing the state for future requirements.
Discussion on many policies for Jharkhand
On this occasion, concept papers of Jharkhand AI Policy, Jharkhand Investment Promotion Policy, Jharkhand Tourism Policy, Jharkhand Textile Policy, JIDA Regulations and PPP Policy were presented before the stakeholders. Suggestions were invited from industry and experts on these policies, so that they can be made more effective and investor-friendly.
During the program, a Business-to-Government (B2G) dialogue was also organized between the government and industry representatives, in which the possibilities of investment and partnership in the field of IT, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Governance and modern technologies in Jharkhand were discussed in detail.
The Chief Minister said that the Jharkhand government is committed to developing the state in line with future technologies and such dialogues will play an important role in giving a new direction to the development journey of the state. He said that based on the suggestions received from the stakeholders, the government will formulate such policies which, along with attracting investment, will also accelerate employment generation and inclusive growth.
A gathering of ministers was seen at the spot
On this occasion, Deepika Pandey, Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Irfan Ansari, Minister of Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare, Sanjay Kumar Yadav, Minister of Industry, Labor and Planning, Sudivya Kumar, Minister of Tourism, Art, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs and Urban Development and Housing were present. Chief Secretary of the state, Avinash Kumar, while highlighting the objectives of the program in detail, stressed the need to use technology in the development of the state. Development Commissioner Ajay Kumar Singh was also present.
IBM’s Tallin Kumar, Microsoft’s Sandeep Arora and Google’s Rajesh Ranjan underlined the possibilities of information technology related to Jharkhand through presentations.
The welcome address and topic was by Admission Secretary Information Technology Pooja Singhal. The vote of thanks was given by Director, Information Technology Madhavi Mishra. On this occasion, Secretary, Industries Arva Rajkamal, Special Secretary Information and Public Relations Rajiv Lochan Bakshi, Director Industries Vishal Sagar and senior officials of the state government and stakeholders were present.
