
The morning of Friday 12th June has come with a very sad and shocking news for the Indian sports world. Jaspal Rana, one of the country’s most famous shooters and Asian Games gold medalist, passed away suddenly. Jaspal Rana was 49 years old. According to the information, Rana, who was returning from the Shooting World Cup in Germany, suddenly complained of chest pain, after which he was admitted to Max Super Specialty Hospital in Saket, Delhi. He also underwent surgery here but despite this he could not be saved and he breathed his last in the hospital.
For the last several years, Jaspal Rana was giving pistol shooting training to the young shooters of the country and even before breathing his last, he was with the team as a coach. The ISSF Shooting World Cup was held in Munich, Germany from 24 to 31 May, where Indian women shooters won 2 gold and 2 silver medals in pistol shooting.
After this successful tournament, when he was returning with the team, he complained of chest pain and restlessness in the flight itself. From here he was admitted to the hospital and during this time he also underwent surgery. But despite successful surgery, he died on the night of Thursday 11 June. National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) President Kalikesh Narayan Singh gave this information.
