
A big news has come out from Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir. A constable died in the terrorist attack near Lal Chowk here. The attacking terrorist fled from the spot. Search operation is going on in search of terrorists.
According to information received from PCR Anantnag, at around 12:35 pm, some unidentified terrorists opened fire on the police party in Kotwal Gali area of Lal Chowk under the jurisdiction of Anantnag Police Station.
In this incident, head constable Ashiq Hussain of the third battalion of IR died on the spot. After this incident there was chaos in the area. Security forces have cordoned off the area. A search operation has been started to trace the attackers.
TRF took responsibility of Anantnag terrorist attack
Officials said that Havildar Ashiq Hussain was deployed on security duty of Amarnath Yatra. Lashkar-e-Taiba’s affiliate, ‘The Resistance Front’ (TRF), has claimed responsibility for the attack through a social media post. TRF was formed in August 2019 after the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. TRF is considered a mask or proxy organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Let us tell you that Lal Chowk area is the most crowded area of Anantnag. Even on normal days there is a huge crowd of buyers and local people. Like Lal Chowk of Srinagar, this square of Anantnag has also been witness to political meetings and rallies.
Earlier, terrorists had infiltrated into Rajouri.
A few days before this, suspected terrorists had tried to infiltrate in Tarkundi Forward area near LOC in Rajouri. After this, there was firing between the army and the terrorists for about one and a half hours. Earlier, security forces had killed top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Zakir Ganai in a major anti-terrorism operation in Shopian.
