Meanwhile, the delegation formed by the middle also reached Dara Sangla under the leadership of Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma. The team visited Ground Zero to assess the damage and met the affected families. Leader Sunil Sharma said that on the basis of this visit, a detailed report will be sent to the Central Government, so that appropriate compensation can be provided to the affected people as soon as possible.
Devastation in Kishtwar and Doda districts also
The impact of heavy rain is not limited to Poonch only. Landslides have also occurred at many places in Kishtwar and Doda districts and many roads have been closed due to incessant rains. According to the district administration, about 210 roads were affected due to cloudburst and rain, out of which 110 roads have been restored, while about 100 roads are still damaged and the work to reopen them is going on.
BJP leaders demanded compensation
BJP leader Ravindra Raina, who reached Dara Sangla, said while talking to TV9 Bharatvarsh that the people of Poonch and Rajouri have suffered huge losses and they need immediate relief and compensation. Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma, while targeting the state government, said that at the time of this disaster, no responsible representative of the government reached among the affected people. He alleged that neither the Chief Minister came to the spot nor the elected MLAs of the area came to know the condition of the people.
BJP leader Sunil Sharma said that people have lost their homes and loved ones while the government representatives are busy in the Constitution Club in Delhi, which is very unfortunate. Along with this, he assured that relief material will soon be delivered to the affected areas by BJP.
