After the donation theft controversy in Ram Temple of Ayodhya, Ram Mandir Trust has elected its new secretary. Jagdish Afley, an engineer by profession and project manager in temple construction, has been made the first secretary. In view of the delay in the appointment of the CEO, the Trust created a new post of Secretary and handed over this responsibility to Afley. However, his appointment will be formally approved on September 2, when the next meeting of the Trust will be held.
On behalf of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Jagdish Afley has been made the new authorized signatory of the trust. The proposal of his name has also been sent to State Bank of India (SBI). After the case of donation theft came to light, it became a big political issue and after a long speculation, General Secretary Champat Rai and Trustee Dr. Anil Mishra had resigned.
Salary was stuck due to lack of signatory
Then on July 6, in the Trust meeting, the resignations of the then General Secretary Champat and Trustee Anil were accepted. Along with this, the Trust also decided to make changes in the authorized signatory. In view of this, the names of interim general secretaries Krishna Mohan and Jagdish Afley were sent to the bank by the trust, but the bank had questioned Afley not being a trustee, due to which there was a deadlock in the account operation.
But after the new appointment, the deadlock regarding the signatories in the trust has now ended. At the same time, SBI has also started operating accounts again after the new proposals. Due to not being an authorized signatory, the salaries of about one thousand employees associated with the trust and payments to agencies were being affected.
Afley remained a project manager without salary
Jagdish Afley, who was the project manager of the construction of Ram temple, was fulfilling his responsibilities without salary. He has been made the first secretary of the trust. Apart from the secretary, the selection process is going on for the spokesperson of the trust. Many names were also discussed for this. It is believed that soon the name will be announced for that also.
Jagdish Afley, who hails from Pune, Maharashtra, has been associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) since childhood. He is an electrical engineer by profession. He is already associated with the Ram temple in Ayodhya. When the construction of Ram temple started, he took the responsibility of project manager without salary.
Electrical Engineering from Mumbai IIT
Afley did B.Tech and then M.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Mumbai. After this he became associated with many multinational companies (MNC). Not only this, apart from some European countries, he also went to work in America. Then he came to India. When the construction of Ram temple started in Ayodhya, he started serving as project manager. He lives here with his wife in Tirtha Kshetra Bhavan.
After the appointment of Afley as Secretary, now the Executive of the Trust has to appoint the Chief Executive (CEO) and Spokesperson. At present, the process of appointment of spokesperson is also in the final stage and the name can be announced soon.
On the selection of the CEO, Interim General Secretary Krishna Mohan said that the selection of the CEO will take time, hence a new post of Secretary has been created.
