Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has supported the villagers sitting on strike in Karapur-Shravan village of Goa to save their land, village and environment. He also participated in the dharna along with the party’s Goa in-charge Atishi. During this, he alleged that the BJP government in Goa is working for the builders. People are struggling to save their lands.
He said that if Aam Aadmi Party forms the government, Section 39(A) and all the permissions given under it will be cancelled. Goa is not for sale. As soon as your government is formed, all the housing projects will be finished and development work will be done after consulting the people of Goa and the Gram Sabhas.
Goa one of the most beautiful places
While joining the ongoing dharna in Karapur-Shravan village, Arvind Kejriwal said that I have come from Delhi especially to support the dharna of these people. Goa is one of the most beautiful places on earth. There is a serious conflict of interest in the permission given to change land use under Section 39A of the TCP Act. Therefore, this conversion of land should be investigated impartially and the culprits should be given strict punishment.
Arvind Kejriwal said that this housing project will be scrapped within just one month of the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government. Our government will bring the law with retrospective effect and all the projects passed under it will be cancelled. Whatever development work will be done in Goa, it should be done only after consulting the people here and the Gram Sabhas of the villages.
New township will be built-Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal told that here a builder will build more than two thousand dwelling units on 5.5 lakh square meter of land, which people from India and abroad will buy. In a way, a new township will be built here. Goa is famous all over the world for its natural beauty, but this project will spoil the entire natural beauty and environment here. The farming of the people here will end. People have tenancy rights on this land, that too was not taken care of. People grow cashew nuts here and do various types of farming, all that will also end.
Arvind Kejriwal said that the BJP government had brought this section 39A two years ago and under this many such permissions have been given throughout Goa. This is only a government of builders and colonizers, which is bent on destroying the whole of Goa. A lot of corruption is taking place under Section 39A. I have given these people this assurance and assurance that the BJP government is not going to do anything. Only a few months are left for the elections, so vote for Aam Aadmi Party and bring our government.
Goa stands with the people of Karapur
During this, AAP Goa in-charge Atishi said that when there were movements in Chimbal, the women of Chimbal were at the forefront. The courage of the women forced the government to step back and the project had to be ended. Even today the people of Karapur are not alone in this fight, rather the whole of Goa is with the people of Karapur. We have also come from Delhi to support the people of Karapur.
Atishi said that the natural beauty and environment of Goa is the heritage of the entire country. There is no place more beautiful than Goa in the whole world, be it its forests, sea or rivers. But the leaders of Goa want to destroy the same beauty because they want to fill their pockets. They first buy agricultural land, change its land use through Section 39A, call big builders and everyone puts crores of rupees in their pockets.
Project according to village public opinion
Atishi said that in Goa, first of all, agricultural land is purchased at cheap prices and under Section 39A, it is converted into a mega project. Everywhere some big leader of BJP is associated with that matter. Section 39A will be abolished only after Aam Aadmi Party forms the government in Goa. Under this, all the projects that have been approved till date will be canceled and the land of Goa will be given to the people of Goa.
