US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced a deal with the ambassadors of Israel and Lebanon on Friday, which is being described as the first step towards peace after months of fighting between Israeli forces and the Lebanese extremist group Hezbollah. Officials did not provide any details about the agreement, which was signed by Israel’s Ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter and Lebanon’s Ambassador to the US Nada Hamdeh. However, complete details of this agreement have not been made public.
Regarding this agreement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that this initial agreement between America, Israel and Lebanon is a big blow for Iran.
PM Netanyahu said that this agreement weakens Iran’s influence. According to his statement shared by the Israeli army on the social media platform X, Netanyahu also said that until Lebanon disarms Hezbollah, Israeli forces will remain in southern Lebanon.

Lebanese Ambassador Nada Hamadeh said that this framework is the first step towards restoring Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Its objective is to stop the fighting completely and permanently, so that people can return to their homes and peace, security and prosperity can be established in the country.
Israeli Ambassador Yechiel Leiter said that the ultimate goal of this agreement is to establish peace between the two countries. He said that this will be a real peace in which both the countries will be safe. Each other’s sovereignty will be respected. He also said that Iran and Hezbollah have been kept apart in this trilateral agreement and now the path towards peace is moving forward.
Let us tell you that this conflict started when Israel and America started military action against Iran on February 28, after which a few days Hezbollah fired rockets at Israel. After this, Israel entered Lebanon and increased its control. Since March, more than 4,000 people have died in Israeli attacks in Lebanon.
At the same time, 37 Israeli soldiers have been killed in Lebanon or northern Israel during the fighting. In recent times, there has been a slight reduction in the conflict between the two sides. But the tension increased again after Israel attacked Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah was not part of this conversation.
Ceasefire agreements had been signed many times in the past, but they could not be implemented on the ground. Lebanese officials say that their main demand in the talks is the withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon, while Israel’s main emphasis is on the disarmament of Hezbollah.
