The US and Iran have reached a framework agreement after long talks to end the war, which will be signed in Geneva on June 19 under the mediation of Pakistan. Ever since the framework was agreed upon, leaders of the Gulf countries as well as the entire world have been congratulating both the countries and hoping for peace in the future. But, the PM of Israel, which is the center and cause of this war, has not yet made any statement on this.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu posted a message about President Donald Trump on X on Sunday. This had nothing to do with the ceasefire agreement being made with Iran or the ongoing conflict in Lebanon. On Sunday, he wrote a message only for Trump congratulating him on his 80th birthday.
Netanyahu has not said anything publicly about the agreement (Memorandum of Understanding). Others in his government have criticized the agreement, saying it is bad for Israel and the entire free world and does not ensure our security.
Order to exclude US refueling planes after framework
Last month, the Israel Airports Authority warned that more than 2.4 million flight tickets could be canceled due to the continued presence of American refueling planes at Ben-Gurion International Airport, but Transport Minister Miri Regev on Sunday asked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to remove these planes when news of reaching the framework began to emerge.
We are not involved in this deal – Itamar Ben Gvir
Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir was the first to comment, writing on his Telegram channel, “Trump’s agreement does not bind us… We are not part of this agreement. It does not guarantee our security. We must not compromise on anything less than the elimination of Hezbollah. We must not retreat even an inch of the land that our troops have captured and liberated from terrorist infrastructure.”
From the statements of these two ministers of Netanyahu, it seems that Israel has resorted to rebellion in front of Trump’s decision. If Israel does not stop attacks on Lebanon and does not withdraw its troops, then this armistice will have no meaning. Because Iran has made it clear that it will not leave Hezbollah alone.
