US President Donald Trump on Monday claimed a diplomatic breakthrough in the Middle East, saying he had a very productive conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and put a stop to sending troops to Beirut. In several posts on Truth Social, Trump said that after his talks with Netanyahu, any Israeli forces moving towards the Lebanese capital had already been sent back.
Trump said that I had a very meaningful conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and it was decided that no troops would be sent to Beirut, and whatever forces were about to reach there have been sent back. He said that similarly, through high-ranking representatives, I also had good talks with Hezbollah and they agreed that the firing would stop. Israel will not attack them and they will not attack Israel.

Stopped indirect talks with America
At the same time, Iran has stopped the ongoing indirect talks with America. On Monday, Iranian news agency Tasnim reported that Iran has stopped indirect talks and exchange of messages with the US through intermediaries in protest against the continuous Israeli attacks in Lebanon. According to the agency, this decision has been taken in response to Israeli violation of the ceasefire in Lebanon. Iran considers this as one of the basic conditions of a comprehensive ceasefire arrangement in the region.
‘It would be better to shut up’
Although President Donald Trump said on Monday that Iran has not yet informed the US that it is ending talks, he indicated that he has no problem waiting for Tehran to agree to an acceptable deal. “To be honest, I think we are talking too much,” he said in a phone interview. I think it would be better to remain silent.
‘We will continue the blockade’
He said, this does not mean that we will go there and start bombing everywhere. We will just shut up. We will continue the blockade. The blockade is as strong as iron. Trump, who has always insisted he feels no pressure to reach a deal quickly, said he has the upper hand on Tehran. He said, I think I can wait as long as they want.
