
Kim Aris, son of former Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi, has asked for proof of his mother being alive. Kim Aris said that if my mother is alive, then the army should provide proof. He said that I will run a campaign among the people of Myanmar to know the truth about my mother. After the coup in Myanmar in 2021, Aung San Suu Kyi was sent to jail. The news of the death of 81-year-old Suu Kyi had come a few days ago, which was rejected by the army. Now his son has asked for proof of Aung San being alive.
The Independent According to Kim Aris said that June 19 is my mother’s 81st birthday. No one has any idea about the condition my mother is in right now. I would like to tell the people of Myanmar that you people should come out on the streets for my mother. Aris has appealed to the public to either walk 81 thousand kilometers, or cycle 81 miles or run 81 kilometers to know the condition of his mother.
Not being allowed to meet lawyers
After the military coup in Myanmar in 2021, Aung San Suu Kyi was sent to solitary confinement. Recently, when the government of Myanmar changed, the government issued a statement saying that Aung San Suu Kyi would be shifted from solitary confinement to house arrest, but no picture of Aung San Suu Kyi has been revealed.
Nor is anyone being allowed to meet Aung San Suu Kyi. Even his lawyers are not able to meet him. After questions were raised, the police released a blurry photo of Aung San Suu Kyi. His son says that it could be made through fake means.
Aris further said that the military government talks about transparency, but it does not tell what condition my mother is in? Aris has raised this question at a time when Myanmar’s Military President Min Aung is on a visit to New Delhi.
