July 10, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the beta version of the new website of IRCTC will be launched soon. On Friday, students of MNIT, Jaipur saw the demo of the new website and also gave their opinion on it. The website is being further improved based on the suggestions of the students.

A few weeks ago, the students of MNIT had pointed out many shortcomings of the existing IRCTC website. After that, the Railways had decided to give a complete redesign to the website. Now the new website is ready and it is being connected to the new Passenger Reservation System of Indian Railways. The Railway Minister said that a new reservation system is also being prepared simultaneously. Once it is completed, the new IRCTC website will be launched for all passengers in the coming few months.

What will be special in the new website?

  • There will be no recurring Captcha and unnecessary pop-ups.
  • Seat availability in all classes will be visible simultaneously.
  • There will be fewer steps to book tickets, making booking faster than before.

These facilities will also be available

For frequent travelers, passenger information will be saved, which will make it easier to book tickets again. The Railway Minister also said that Railways is completely upgrading the Passenger Reservation System which has been running for the last 40 years. This work is being done without stopping the ticket booking service and the new system will be launched soon. He told that downloads of RailOne app have now crossed 4 crores. It has become the largest railway ticket booking app in the country, where almost all the services of railways are available at one place. Many steps have also been taken to stop bots and fake booking in Tatkal tickets. Railways says that there has been some improvement in this, but continuous work on this will continue.
