Masood Pejeshkian had invited PM Modi
Earlier, Iranian President Masoud Pejeshkian had invited PM Modi to attend the funeral ceremony. The ceremony was for Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in US-Israeli strikes in February. Later his son Mojtaba became the new Supreme Leader.
Perhaps this is the first time that after becoming the Supreme Leader of Iran, Mojtaba has sent a message directly to PM Modi. It is noteworthy that since coming to this post, he has not been seen in public yet, while there are reports that he had suffered serious injuries during the American attacks.
The special thing is that Khamenei has not yet appeared in public since assuming office, amid reports of him being seriously injured in American military action. This development has come amid important changes in leadership in Tehran, in which Iranian President Massoud Pejeshkian had invited Modi to attend the state funeral of former supreme leader Ali Khamenei.
