Kuwait has released CCTV video of the attack on Kuwait International Airport on June 3, 2026. This video is from Terminal-1 (T1), where a big explosion took place during the attack. Kuwait’s Civil Aviation Department says that this attack was carried out by an Iranian drone. On the other hand, Iran has denied deliberately targeting the airport.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says it did not attack Kuwait’s passenger terminal. An IRGC spokesperson claimed that the damage to the airport may have been caused by the fault of the American Patriot air defense system. He says that the US Army had fired the Patriot missile to stop Iranian missiles, but it did not reach its target and fell on the airport terminal.

Kuwait called it a cruel Iranian attack
Kuwaiti officials have described the incident as a brutal Iranian drone attack. According to him, people lost their lives in the attack, many were seriously injured and the airport building was heavily damaged. Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry had said that a projectile had fallen on Terminal-1 and some other important places. These also included premises attached to some diplomatic missions or embassies. According to the ministry, one person died in this attack.
Kuwait’s Health Ministry later confirmed that the person who died was an Indian citizen. According to the ministry, 63 people have been injured in this attack. Many of the injured have suffered serious injuries and are undergoing treatment.
Tension between Iran and US amid ceasefire
This incident happened at a time when military tension between America and Iran had increased significantly. The IRGC claimed that it had targeted US military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain in response to the US attacks on Qeshm Island in Iran. Among these, the American Fifth Fleet Headquarters in Bahrain was also mentioned. However, the US Defense Department has rejected these claims of Iran.
America says that Iranian missiles fired towards Kuwait could not reach their target. Some missiles broke down on the way or fell before the target. Now after the CCTV video surfaced, Kuwait’s claim has become stronger, while Iran is still blaming the American Patriot missile for this loss.
