Iran has stopped the ongoing indirect talks with America. On Monday, Iranian news agency Tasnim reported that Iran has stopped indirect talks and exchange of messages with the US through intermediaries in protest against the continuous Israeli attacks in Lebanon. According to the agency, this decision has been taken in response to Israeli violation of the ceasefire in Lebanon. Iran considers this as one of the basic conditions of a comprehensive ceasefire arrangement in the region.
Tasnim said that until its demands regarding Gaza and Lebanon are met, the Iranian negotiating team will continue talks and exchange of messages through mediators. The report said Iranian officials and negotiators stressed the need for an immediate halt to Israeli military operations in Gaza and Lebanon, as well as Israel’s complete withdrawal from the occupied territories in Lebanon. Tasneem said, “There will be no talks unless Iran and the resistance front’s stance on these issues are taken into account.”

The report also states that Iran and its allies in the Axis of Resistance have decided to respond to Israeli attacks and consider opening additional fronts. According to the report, measures under consideration include completely closing the Strait of Hormuz and activating other fronts, including the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, as a means of putting pressure on Israel and its supporters.
