July 24, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Ira Khan: The issue of students has now become the issue of the country. Protests are taking place at many places and now even celebs are openly expressing their opinion on this issue. From Salman Khan to Kareena Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have expressed their displeasure over the treatment meted out to the students. But till now Ira Khan, the darling of Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan, had maintained silence on the students’ issue. However, yesterday IRA has released a video. In this video he has given the reason for not saying anything on the issue.

He has said that the first thing is that I felt that I had nothing that could make any new or meaningful contribution to this conversation. One reason for this is that I kept myself emotionally distant from this entire incident. Let us know what Ira has said in this video?

Ira Khan broke silence on students’ issue

Ira Khan has released the video and explained why she was silent on the students’ issue till now. Ira said in the video – I did not say anything on this issue because I thought that my speaking probably would not make much difference. I deliberately stay away from news and social media, because such things disturb me mentally a lot. That’s why I focus my energy on those things on which I can do something at my level.

When I got the news of my cousin joining the protest, I was nervous. There was relief when we learned that he was safe. Then I realized that there were emotions about this whole matter, but I was not able to feel them openly.

Ira further said that, if anyone thought from my silence that I do not care about this issue, then it is not so at all. I am worried about the students. I may not be able to fully understand the pressure of exams, but I do understand that it is not just a question of exams but also of the right to express one’s views and be heard.

I hope that this whole matter gets resolved soon and no one has to suffer the least mental, emotional or physical pain. “I just want to say that I care about you, I am listening to you.”
