IPL Trade: Chennai Super Kings does not need Hardik Pandya? CSK said everything clearly

July 1, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Indian team’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya is away from cricket action due to injury. He could not even go on the England tour with the team. But despite all this, he is constantly in the news. Recently a report came that he has shifted from Mumbai to Bangalore. Now the latest news is regarding his IPL future, in which it is being claimed that the league teams are trying to trade him, including 5-time champion Chennai Super Kings. CSK has poured cold water on this news which spread like wildfire and has rejected any such discussion.

After failing as the captain of Mumbai Indians for 3 consecutive seasons, there is a lot of speculation about Hardik’s separation from the franchise. It is definitely believed that Hardik will be a part of a new team in the next season. But which team that will be, it is not clear at the moment. The hustle and bustle has intensified since the opening of the IPL trading window. In such a report, it was claimed that there is a tussle between 7 teams regarding Hardik, in which Chennai and former champion Kolkata Knight Riders are leading the race.

But just a few hours after this report came out, all the claims were rejected by Chennai Super Kings. In a statement issued by the franchise CEO Kashi Vishwanathan, it has been said that CSK has not discussed anything regarding Hardik Pandya and at present the team has no such plans. Vishwanathan also said, “CSK has not yet reviewed its IPL season and all this will be done only after the MLC season is over. We have not talked to anyone and whatever is being said about Hardik and CSK is not true.”

Now CSK has officially refused to discuss this trade at present. But generally in any such deal, until 100 percent of the issues are settled, the teams publicly deny it. Anyway, the trading window will remain open till a week before the IPL auction. The auction usually takes place in November or December but at present BCCI has not taken any decision regarding the date. In such a situation, a lot can change in the next 4-5 months.
