Earn money, score runs and get applause, this is what Indian batsmen are seen doing in IPL. Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Abhishek Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, all these batsmen are seen doing wonders in IPL. These players destroy the opposing bowlers by hitting sixes and fours, but all these players are in bad shape in England. In Nottingham, such a game happened with Team India which he had never expected. On a pitch where England scored 201 runs, the Indian team collapsed for 76 runs in just 11.4 overs. After this came the statement of Joffra Archer which has raised questions on the ability of Indian players. Archer believes that there are flat pitches in IPL, hence the bowlers face problems there, but the conditions in England are different due to which the batsmen can be troubled here. Jofra Archer’s statement has once again raised the question whether Indian players are suffering losses due to IPL?
How is IPL hurting Indian batsmen?
Talking about IPL, the pitch there is flat due to which a lot of runs are scored. On a small mistake of the bowler, the batsman hits a six. The length at which it is difficult to take a single is the same length at which batsmen hit sixes. As a result, batsmen become habituated to playing such shots. But the pitches of England are different. There the ball stops for a while. There is a little more bounce in the pitch. Meaning you have to use a little brain to make shots. But Indian batsmen have got used to the IPL and they attack the ball in the same manner and the result is wickets. The same was seen in Nottingham also.
What did Jofra Archer say?
Joffra Archer, after winning the Player of the Match against India, said that the pitch in IPL is easy and the boundaries are also small, hence the conditions there are different from England. He said, ‘Everything has become normal here. Here you try to keep the ball straight and at good length. But the pitches in IPL are easy. The boundary is small and there you have to maintain a length. I think in England the bowler has more scope to make mistakes.
