IPL 2026 Orange Cap: Vaibhav Suryavanshi won the Orange Cap, created history by scoring the most runs at the age of 15

Vaibhav Suryavanshi made a splash in IPL 2026 and this season ended with a wonderful award for him. The 15-year-old young opener of Rajasthan Royals won the Orange Cap award for most runs in his second IPL season. Due to Rajasthan’s defeat in Qualifier-2, Vaibhav could not play the final but he proved to be the most successful batsman of this season. Vaibhav scored 776 runs in 16 innings of IPL 2026 and thus became the number-1 batsman. He also became the youngest batsman to win this award.

Gill-Sudarshan failed in the final

These two star batsmen of Gujarat Titans had a chance to overtake Vaibhav. Gujarat captain Gill had 722 runs, while Sai had 710 runs.

In such a situation, both of them could have overtaken Suryavanshi but it did not happen because in the final, the bowlers of Royal Challengers Bangalore sent both of them back to the pavilion within 4 overs. While Gill could score only 10 runs, Sudarshan was also out for 12 runs. In this way, Gill’s season ended with 732 runs and Sudarshan’s with 722 runs.

Vaibhav created history at the age of 15

With the dismissal of Gill-Sudarshan, it was decided that Vaibhav Suryavanshi will be the winner of the Orange Cap in IPL 2026. In this season, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has been continuously blasting every big and small bowler with his explosive batting, himself reached the Ahmedabad Stadium and saw the Orange Cap being awarded to him. At the age of just 15, he became the youngest batsman to win the Orange Cap. Not only this, after Shaun Marsh and Ruturaj Gaikwad, Suryavanshi has become only the third uncapped batsman to win the Orange Cap.
