Kagiso Rabada Record: Gujarat Titans fast bowler Kagiso Rabada created history in the first qualifier match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Rabada gave the first blow to RCB in the match being played on 26th May at HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. Venkatesh Iyer was caught by Shubman Gill on Rabada’s ball. With this, a big record was registered in the name of Rabada. Kagiso Rabada became the first bowler in IPL history to take 25 or more wickets in three seasons of IPL.

Rabada’s amazing feat – 25+ wickets in 3 IPL seasons

Kagiso Rabada For the third time, he has done the feat of taking 25 or more wickets in an IPL season. This player had taken 25 wickets in 2019 before the year 2026 and after that in 2020-21 he took 30 wickets in an IPL season. Before Rabada, this record was in the name of Dwayne Bravo, who had done this feat twice. Malinga-Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Faulkner, Trent Boult, Hasaranga, Imran Tahir, Mohammed Shami, Morne Morkel, Harshal Patel, Prasidh Krishna, Rashid Khan and Mohit Sharma have done this feat once each.

Rabada shook Venkatesh Iyer’s wicket like this

Kagiso Rabada gave Gujarat its first success by dismissing Venkatesh Iyer. This wicket was very important because Venkatesh Iyer was batting very well. He hit 3 fours and a six in 6 balls but Rabada dismissed him on the 7th ball. He tried to play Rabada’s upper length ball in the air but it stood in the mid-off area and Shubman Gill took an excellent catch while running backwards.

Kagiso Rabada also became the king of powerplay.

Kagiso Rabada has also done the feat of taking the most wickets in the powerplay of an IPL season. This season Rabada has taken 18 wickets in the powerplay. This is a record. Earlier in the year 2023, Mohammed Shami had taken 17 wickets in the powerplay. Mitchell Johnson had taken 16 wickets in 2013.

Kagiso Rabada number 1 in Purple Cap race

Kagiso Rabada is currently number 1 in the race for Purple Cap in IPL 2026. This player has taken 25 wickets, although behind him is RCB fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has taken 24 wickets.
