Emerging Player of the Season was also Vaibhav Suryavanshi, for which he was awarded Rs 10 lakh and a trophy. Why was this season special for Vaibhav?
Even though his team could not win the title, Vaibhav took T20 cricket to a new level with his batting. He hit a total of 72 sixes this season, which is a new record in the history of IPL. He left behind the record of 59 sixes of the legendary Chris Gayle. He also emerged as the uncapped player who scored the most runs in a single season of IPL.
