The country also earns good foreign earnings from tea export.
The largest number of tea plantations in India are in Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Tea of ​​Assam and Darjeeling is famous all over the world. Apart from this, tea is also cultivated in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Sikkim. The climate of hilly and high rainfall areas is considered favorable for tea production. Lakhs of people are associated with the tea industry in these states.
Tea business is a very big and fast growing industry in India. Every year lakhs of tonnes of tea is produced in the country and there is a huge demand for it in the domestic market as well as in foreign countries. The tea industry provides employment to lakhs of farmers, laborers and small traders. India is among the largest tea producing and consuming countries in the world. Tea business also provides strong support to the country's economy and export earnings.
