These days, news of defection is coming to the fore in Maharashtra politics. There is speculation about the merger between Congress and Sharad Pawar led Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) i.e. NCP (SP). Meanwhile, the statement of Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has come out. Athawale has given a big political offer to Sharad Pawar. He said that NCP (SP) should join the BJP-led NDA alliance instead of joining Congress.
Republican Party of India (Athawale faction) chief Athawale said on Saturday that Sharad Pawar should join BJP-led NDA instead of joining hands with Congress. He said that earlier he himself had advised Pawar to merge his party with Congress, but now the ‘Grand Old Party’ no longer has the same strength as before.
‘Instead of Congress, he should join NDA’
Athawale said that instead of going to Congress, he should join NDA. If you have problem with BJP then merge it with RPI. This statement of his has started a new debate in the politics of Maharashtra. His statement has come at a time when there is talk of small parties returning to Congress to strengthen the opposition alliance.
Sanjay Raut gave this suggestion
This statement of Athawale comes after the suggestion of Shiv Sena UBT MP Sanjay Raut in which Raut had appealed to parties like TMC and NCP SP to return to Congress. Raut said that the leaders who had left the Congress and formed their own parties should now come back with the ‘Grand Old Party’ so that a strong alternative can be given to the BJP. He had especially asked NCP SP chief Sharad Pawar to take the initiative to merge the smaller parties back into the Congress. His statement came after the crushing defeat of TMC in the recent West Bengal Assembly elections.
