Giving information, Union Ports, Shipping and Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that three Indian flagged crude oil tankers with 94 Indian crew members have crossed the Strait of Hormuz and left for India. More than 8.6 lakh tonnes of crude oil is loaded in these ships. He told that the three tankers named Desh Vaibhav, Desh Vibhor and Sanmar Herald are likely to reach India between June 24 and July 1.
Desh Vaibhav is likely to reach Vadinar port on June 24, while Desh Vibhor is expected to reach Sikka port on the same day. The third Indian-flagged oil tanker Sanmar Herald, which crossed the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday, is likely to reach Paradip port on July 1.

Union Minister Sonowal wrote on social media platform
He wrote that under the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is working to ensure the security of India’s maritime interests on top priority. The Ministry is actively coordinating with all concerned agencies to ensure complete safety of Indian seafarers and the country’s energy supply system. Recently, the country’s Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that as soon as cheap crude oil starts arriving in the country’s refineries, there may be a decline in the prices of petrol and diesel.
