
All 14 crew members have been rescued after an Indian-flagged ship sank due to engine failure off the coast of Oman. The Indian Embassy in Oman said that all 14 crew members are safe and in good health. He told that they are being sent by a ship towards Mumbai.
The Indian Embassy posted a photo on Twitter and wrote that the rescue operation of the Indian flagged MSV Viraat 1 has been successfully completed. All 14 crew members have been rescued and are currently on their way to Mumbai on board ‘Jabal Ali 9’. Crew members are safe and healthy.

ship engine malfunction
Earlier, the Indian Embassy in Muscat had said on Sunday that it has come to light that the ship’s engine has malfunctioned and the crew has been safely evacuated in life rafts. US Navy helped in rescue!
The US side has claimed that US Naval forces deployed in the Middle East helped in rescuing 14 Indian sailors stranded in the Arabian Sea on Sunday. He said that as soon as information about this incident was received, the US Navy, Indian Navy and a merchant ship passing nearby jointly started the rescue operation. In time, all 14 Indians were safely evacuated in life rafts.
