
India reiterated its long-term support towards Palestine in the second ministerial meeting of Palestine Donor Group (PDG) held in Brussels. India reiterated its support for the two-state solution and Palestine’s membership in the United Nations. India was represented by Sripriya Ranganathan, Secretary (CPV and OIA) of the Ministry of External Affairs, in this meeting jointly organized by the European Commission and the Palestinian Authority. The meeting was attended by representatives of EU member states, Palestine, international partners and financial institutions.
Addressing the meeting, Sripriya Ranganathan said that India has been a reliable partner of the Palestinian people for a long time. He said that India’s developmental assistance is demand-driven and mainly focuses on health, education, capacity building and vocational training.

Which projects is India working on?
Sripriya Ranganathan said that India is working on many important projects related to health services, women empowerment and institutional capacity building in Palestine. Along with this, India also announced many new projects related to rehabilitation, health, education and vocational training.
During her stay in Brussels, Sripriya Ranganathan also participated in the meeting organized by the incoming Chairman of the Advisory Commission of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). During this, he reiterated India’s continuous support for the humanitarian work of the agency in Palestine. The Ministry of External Affairs said that India will remain a committed and reliable partner to meet the humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people and will continue concrete cooperation in the future.
Palestine was mentioned in Jakarta
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said on July 7 that India and Indonesia will increase cooperation on global issues. He also reiterated the importance of a ‘two-state solution’ to end the Israel-Palestine dispute. PM Modi said this in front of the press in Jakarta, where he and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto signed several agreements. These agreements also include agreements related to the supply of BrahMos supersonic cruise missile system and Astra Mk-1 beyond-visual-range air-to-air missiles by India to Indonesia.
