May 27, 2026 by Uma Shankar

The Indian women’s cricket team is currently in England where it has to play a three-match T20 series against England. The first match will be played on 28th May and before this match, the Indian team did strange practice. Players of the Indian women’s cricket team took the help of balloons to improve their catching. BCCI has shared its video on social media. In this video, Indian players are seen practicing with water balloons. In this, the Indian coach formed teams of players and threw water balloons towards them, so that their catching ability could be improved.

Why practice catching with water balloons?

Now the question is why is catching practice being done with water balloons? How do water balloons improve catching? Let us tell you that it is necessary to use light hands in catching any ball. If hands are hard then there will be more chances of missing the catch. This is the reason why practice of catching water balloons was conducted. Why if balloons are caught with hard hands they can burst. That is why the Indian coach came up with this amazing idea to improve the catching of Team India.
