In the second T20 against England, India scored 190 runs in 20 overs. The big thing is that at one time Team India had scored 130 runs in 13 overs and only 2 wickets had fallen but despite this the team could not even reach 200 runs. The reason for such poor performance was those 33 balls where Team India’s batsmen destroyed the good start. Let us tell you that between 13th over and 18.3 overs, 4 wickets were lost and this batsman could score only 34 runs in these 33 balls. Meaning, Team India’s run rate in these 33 balls was a little more than 6.
Team India’s middle order failed
Team India at Old Trafford ground in Manchester Vaibhav Suryavanshi And Abhishek Sharma gave a great start. Both the players added 50 runs in the first five overs for the first wicket. After this, both Suryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma were out till the score of 65 runs. After the powerplay, Captain Shreyas Iyer took Team India’s score forward rapidly, who played an inning of 37 runs in 22 balls. Along with Ishan Kishan, he took the team’s score to 130 runs in 12.5 overs, but after this the bad game started which stopped Team India before 200 runs.
Poor performance of Team India players
On the last ball of the 13th over, Liam Dawson got Shreyas Iyer caught out on a personal score of 37. After this, Sam Curran did not allow Shivam Dubey and Ishan Kishan to score runs freely. Dubey scored only 5 runs in 7 balls whereas Ishan Kishan scored only 49 runs but for this he played 40 balls. Akshar Patel was also run out on a personal score of just 2. It must be good for Tilak Verma who hit 2 sixes and a four on the first three balls of Joffra Archer in the last over, due to which the score reached 190 runs, otherwise Team India would have been able to score only 175 to 180 runs. Tilak played an innings of 24 runs in 11 balls.
poor shot selection
Let us tell you that all the players of Team India were out due to very poor shot selection. Suryavanshi lost his wicket after getting stumped. Abhishek Sharma gave an easy catch on a simple ball. Shreyas Iyer also gave a wicket while playing a tremendous aerial shot. Ishan Kishan, Shivam Dubey also made England players practice catching on ordinary balls. Axar Patel was run out in a childish manner. Result: Team India did not reach 200 runs.
