In his place, Center of Excellence head VVS Laxman will be with Team India in Zimbabwe. However, not only in the Zimbabwe tour, VVS Laxman can also be seen playing the role of coach for Team India in the Asian Games to be held thereafter.

Sunil Joshi and Hrishikesh Kanitkar can be in the rest of the support staff along with VVS Laxman in the Zimbabwe tour and Asian Games.
