
Japanese Prime Minister PM Sanae Takaichi is on a visit to India. Japanese PM Sanae Takaichi met Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the India-Japan Joint Economic Forum event in New Delhi on Thursday. During this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi inaugurated the fourth car manufacturing factory of Maruti Suzuki in Kharkhoda, Haryana. PM Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi also visited an exhibition at the India-Japan Joint Economic Forum.
Addressing the Joint Economic Forum, PM Modi said, today, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and I have decided to make our partnership more dynamic and deeper. We have signed many agreements in AI, defense and health sectors. These agreements will make our partnership more future-ready and almost limitless. During this, PM Modi once again called the Japanese PM as his “younger sister”.
Prime Minister Modi said, “India is the fastest growing economy in the world. India’s GDP growth last year was 7.7% and it is growing rapidly. He said that we are opening every sector to the private sector. Today, the Japanese Prime Minister and I have decided to make our partnership more dynamic and deeper.”
The whole world benefits from the relationship between Japan and India.
PM Modi further said, “He is very happy to be among you at the India-Japan Joint Economic Forum. India-Japan relations are very important. Today, two-thirds of Suzuki parts around the world are made in India and are exported to more than 100 countries. Motorcycles from Kawasaki, Yamaha and Honda are also exported from India to the rest of the world.” PM Modi said that when Japan’s expertise and investment meets India’s speed and scale, the entire world benefits.
Congratulations to the new partners joining the forum
PM Modi said that many Japanese companies have been associated with India for a long time. Some have been around for more than a century. And I heartily congratulate the new partners joining this forum for becoming a part of the India-Japan success story. PM Modi said that for the last 12 years, we have been changing our economic DNA by adopting continuous reforms.
Japan Business Week will be organized
PM Modi said during his address, I want to make one more announcement. My office, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), will organize a special Japan Business Week. Senior officials of the PMO will talk to you directly, consult and understand your concerns. They will have open and constructive discussions with you to further enhance the ease of doing business.
PM Modi praised Japanese Prime Minister
Earlier in his address, PM Modi said, “It is a great pleasure to welcome Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on his first visit to India for the India-Japan Annual Summit. She is the first woman Prime Minister of Japan and a visionary and popular leader. Also, she hails from Nara Prefecture of Japan, which is an important center of the shared Buddhist heritage of India and Japan.”
Japanese Prime Minister called PM Modi elder brother
Starting his address, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi thanked PM Modi, calling him his elder brother. He said that Japan has been trading with India for a long time. Which has become stronger today and this partnership will strengthen at a faster pace in the coming days. Meanwhile, the Japanese PM said, “Prime Minister Modi lovingly called me his ‘beautiful younger sister’, which shows his love. Earlier, we had promised to further strengthen Japan-India relations, which was confirmed in the Forum meeting.
