IND vs SL: Jasprit Bumrah should not have been selected, R Ashwin’s amazing statement

India has to play a 2-match test series against Sri Lanka from 15th August. Earlier, R Ashwin has raised questions on the squad of Team India. According to Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah should not have been selected on the Sri Lanka tour. According to Ashwin, the pitches in Sri Lanka are spin friendly and hence Bumrah’s role will be less there. According to him, to manage Bumrah’s workload, he should have been kept out of the Sri Lanka Test series.

Why did Ashwin talk about keeping Bumrah out?

R Ashwin Said on Ash Ki Baat YouTube channel, ‘If Bumrah had not played in the Sri Lanka series, it would not have had much impact. There are spin friendly pitches in Sri Lanka. We need Bumrah in World Cup 2027. Bumrah should be fielded in important ODI matches or test matches. He should also be rested for two Test matches in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Test series. He may be given a chance in the Test series on the New Zealand tour because the pitch there suits him.

Bumrah will get a chance in only one test

Let us tell you that Jasprit Bumrah is expected to get a chance in only one match in the Test series against Sri Lanka. He has been selected for the Test series but according to BCCI, he will take the field only according to his fitness. It is believed that Bumrah may not be fielded in the first match and Gurnoor Brar may get a chance to make his Test debut in his place. Anyway, Team India has kept 4 fast bowlers in the squad. Which includes the famous Krishna, Siraj, Brar and Bumrah.
