R Ashwin On Team India T20I Series Defeat: The historic 0-2 defeat of the Indian cricket team in the T20 series against Ireland has surprised everyone. Now questions are being raised about the youth brigade succumbing in this manner in front of a team considered weak immediately after becoming the world champion. After this crushing defeat, India’s legendary off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has given a mirror to the Indian batsmen. Ashwin believes that the real test of young players who have become accustomed to playing on the flat and helpful pitches of IPL comes in such conditions.
Ashwin raised questions on Indian batsmen
Speaking openly on his YouTube channel, Ashwin said that every international wicket is not going to be as easy as IPL. Highlighting the shortcomings of the Indian team’s batting, he said that the kind of ’24-carat’ flat pitches that we see in the IPL were not available here in Ireland. To be honest, I really enjoyed watching the quality of cricket in this series.

Ashwin further said that most of the players in this Indian batting line-up have come here directly after playing IPL. His true value and ability at the international level will be tested only when he plays on such pitches. There is no doubt that the hitting ability and stroke-play of the Indian batsmen has improved a lot due to playing in the IPL, but when the ball gets seam and movement, they get stuck.
Indian batsmen were flops in both the matches
Indian batsmen were a complete flop in this series against Ireland. While chasing the target of 183 runs in the first T20, stars like captain Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan were a complete flop and the entire team was all out for 148 runs. At the same time, in the second match also, the Irish bowlers took India’s 4 wickets for 39 runs within the power play. Due to which, despite Tilak Verma’s half-century, Team India lost the match by 1 run against the modest target of 154 runs.
