IND vs ENG: Virat Kohli out in 6 balls, Shubman Gill even refused DRS

July 14, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Indian fans at Edgbaston Stadium were waiting for Virat Kohli to rain runs. He will show the power of his bat but England’s fast bowler Joffra Archer ended the game of the King of Cricket in just 6 balls. In the first ODI, Virat Kohli was out after scoring just five runs and was out LBW by Jofra Archer. Archer trapped Virat Kohli in his best strategy. Virat was first bowled a short ball to him on which he hit a four and then the next ball was thrown straight to the pads which he completely missed. Virat tried to flick the ball but he could not do so and the umpire gave him out LBW.

Virat Kohli could not take review

Virat Kohli When he was out LBW, he felt that the ball was missing the leg stump. He wanted to take a review and he approached captain Shubhman Gill. But Captain Gill flatly refused. According to Gill, the ball was hitting the stumps directly, which Virat accepted and he returned to the pavilion without taking DRS. Seeing Virat Kohli go to the pavilion like this, the fans who had come to Edgbaston to watch his batting were disappointed.

Virat Kohli was destined to fail!

Let us tell you that Virat Kohli’s failure in Edgbaston was considered certain. Virat Kohli was seen in a lot of trouble during the practice session of Team India. He failed to play many shots. Something similar was seen in the match. He was out on that ball which he easily put across the boundary. Well, Virat Kohli does not have a good record in England either. Virat Kohli, who scores runs at an average of around 60 in ODIs, has an average of less than 40 in this format in England.
